The Official (and Slightly Chaotic) RV Tour You Didn’t Know You Needed
Featuring: questionable weather, a rapid evacuation, and a sunset worthy of a Hallmark contract.
Welcome aboard our Class C motorhome, also known as:
- Our tiny-but-mighty rolling apartment
- A mini house with wheels
- A box that shakes during storms
- The place where snacks mysteriously disappear between couch cushions
We wanted today’s vlog to be a calm, peaceful, Pinterest-worthy tour… you know, soft background music, inspirational lighting, organized drawers that magically close on the first try. Spoiler alert: that is not what happened.
🏠 Step Right In — Shoes Optional, Opinions Welcome
Inside our RV, every inch matters. When you live in a space roughly the size of a walk-in closet sold at IKEA, storage becomes an Olympic-level sport.
Our top design features include:
✔ Cabinets that almost always stay shut when driving
✔ Baskets stacked inside of baskets inside of MORE baskets
✔ Hooks — everywhere — because apparently we have trust issues with gravity
✔ Fancy upgrades that make strangers at RV parks go, “Hey, where’d you buy that?”
We meant to give you a calm HGTV-style tour, but instead you’re getting DIY meets survival mode. You’re welcome.
😌 The Calm… Until It Wasn’t
We had just finished showing off our cozy nest — feeling proud, confident, and slightly smug about our organization skills — when suddenly the park host rolled up with the energy of a movie character who appears right before disaster and delivers one dramatic line:
“You might wanna pack up… hail storm coming.”
Um, excuse me?
Hail.
Falling ice rocks.
From the sky.
Toward our home… our roof… our only home.
Suddenly the peaceful tour energy turned into…
- “Where’s my shoe?!”
- “Is that cabinet locked?!”
- “Did we unplug the thing?!”
- “WHO HAS THE DOG TREATS?!”
🛑 Operation: FLEE BEFORE THE SKY ATTACKS
With record-breaking panic-packing skills, we jumped into travel mode like NASCAR pit crew members who hadn’t trained but had a lot to lose.
Everything that wasn’t bolted down was shoved, tossed, or smushed into a bin.
No label making… no sorting… just pure adrenaline and chaos.
As we rolled out, we looked like we were escaping a natural disaster movie — minus the dramatic soundtrack and camera crew… though honestly, we deserved one.
🚗 The Great Montana Escape
The sky switched from aesthetic gray to “should we pray?”
The wind whispered, “Turn back…”
The radar said, “Good luck lol.”
We turned down the radio, leaned forward like that magically improves visibility, and held our breath hoping our roof wouldn’t look like golf-ball testing equipment the next morning.
We didn’t know where we were going yet — just away from the ice bullets.
🎉 Welcome to Cody, Wyoming (Surprise!)
After miles of questioning every life decision, we landed in Cody — a place not on our itinerary, not in our notes, and not in our GPS favorites list. But honestly? Cody welcomed us like we arrived for a spa retreat.
The RV park had one open space — like the Universe said,
“Congrats on surviving, here’s your prize.”
We parked, shut off the engine, and exhaled loud enough to scare the dogs.
🌅 And Then… A Sunset That Deserved Dramatic Music
Just when we thought the day couldn’t get more emotionally confusing, the sky unleashed a cinematic masterpiece — pinks, purples, oranges, the whole romantic postcard package.
It was like God Himself said,
“Sorry about the stress… here, try this.”
We stood there speechless like we’d forgotten words exist.
🎬 Final Moral of the Story
RV life is basically:
- 40% adventure
- 40% improvisation
- 20% Googling weather radar and hoping for the best
Sometimes you get a cozy night in your tiny home.
Sometimes you unintentionally star in a Discovery Channel episode called Fleeing the Hailstorm.
Either way, it makes a great story.
Psalm 107:29 (NIV)
“He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.”
