π Niagara Falls RV Trip β Campground Stay, Travel Tips & Fall Road Trip to Maine ππ
Our cross-country fall adventure continued as we rolled into Niagara Falls, one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the United States. This stop was part of our long journey from Texas β New York β Maine, chasing crisp air, changing leaves, and the beauty of the season.
If youβre planning an RV trip to Niagara Falls, researching campgrounds, or simply love following RV travel vlogs, come along β this stop was truly unforgettable.
π RV Campground Stay β Our Home Base Near the Falls
Finding a good campground close to Niagara Falls is important, especially if you want easy access to the park. We set up at a nearby RV park that offered:
β Full hookups
β Easy pull-through sites
β Pet-friendly spaces for Bella Rose & Dinky πΎ
β Quiet surroundings after long travel days
β A short drive to the main attractions
After our 1,764-mile sprint across the country, being able to settle in, stretch out, and enjoy a comfortable base made all the difference. The pups loved the grassy areas, and we loved the chance to unwind before heading into full tourist mode.
π Exploring Niagara Falls State Park
Once we were rested, fed, and caffeinated, it was time to explore Niagara Falls State Park β Americaβs oldest state park and home to some of the most powerful waterfalls in the world.
From the moment you hear the roar of the water, you understand why millions visit every year. We walked the pathways, admired the views from multiple overlooks, and soaked in the misty air rising from the Falls.
Some of our favorite highlights:
β¨ The American Falls overlook
β¨ Horseshoe Falls views
β¨ The Observation Tower
β¨ Scenic walkways lined with early fall colors
β¨ The sound of rushing water that you feel in your chest
Thereβs something powerful, peaceful, and humbling about standing near the Falls β a reminder of the beauty and strength of Godβs creation.
π Continuing Our Fall Colors Road Trip to Maine
Niagara Falls wasnβt our final destination β just a beautiful stop on our journey north. After exploring the park, we headed back to camp, packed up, and continued our fall-color road trip toward Maine.
This stretch of the country is magical in October. The deeper into the Northeast we traveled, the brighter and more vibrant the leaves became β rich reds, burnt oranges, glowing goldsβ¦ the kind of scenery that makes every mile worth it.
Traveling in our Class C RV gave us the freedom to stop where we wanted, enjoy peaceful mornings, and take in the views at our own pace.
π‘ RV Tips for Visiting Niagara Falls
If youβre planning your own RV trip to the area, here are a few things we learned:
β Stay outside the main city β campgrounds are more peaceful and affordable
β Parking at the State Park is easy with oversized vehicle spots
β Give yourself plenty of time β the park is bigger than most people expect
β Go early for fewer crowds and better lighting
β Wear comfortable shoes β lots of walking
β Bring layers β the mist can make temps feel cooler
And if you’re traveling with pets, remember that dogs are welcome in most outdoor areas around the park, as long as they stay leashed.
π Final Thoughts β Niagara Falls Is Absolutely Worth the Trip
Niagara Falls is more than a bucket-list destination β itβs an experience that stays with you long after you leave. Whether you’re full-time RVers like us or planning a family vacation, this place is a must-see at least once in your life.
From the campground to the Falls to the continued drive toward Maine, this stop was a refreshing, awe-inspiring chapter in our fall travel adventure.
Thanks for joining us on The Simple Mile β and stay tuned, because the fall colors only get better from here. πππ
